Johnny Owens was born in Miami, Florida in 1956. At age 10 his parents bought him his first guitar. Johnny only went to church a few times growing up. In high school he joined a couple of different Rock bands and did the beer and reefer thing. Johnny Owens' musical influences include Jerry Reed with his "Alabama wild man" guitar pickin' and Jimi Hendrix with his wild different sounds. The Blues of John Lee Hooker later influenced the music of Johnny Owens.

In 1975 Johnny married Paula. After two years of marriage, things were not good. A friend told them about Jesus and they accepted Christ into their hearts. Johnny said "We were "Called" into the ministry. We literally gave away all our possessions except for a few things and left off to witness, evangelize and preach the gospel. We had many "Valleys" to pass through and thank God, saw some mountain tops."

Johnny and Paula have two children, Joshua and Christie. They traveled through many states, going from church to church holding revivals. They were given a travel trailer and 60x80 foot tent to hold meetings. During these meetings they saw God perform many wonders as well as healings. Johnny says the greatest thing to see "is someone giving their heart to Jesus".

The mission of Johnny Owens is best summed up as "I have a heart for the lost and backslider. I believe Jesus Christ is coming soon and we need to be about the Fathers business."

Testimony of Johnny Owens

Johnny Owens, Evangelist and Gospel Blues Artist, gave the following testimony in a recent interview :
"I love the Lord and have literally sold out to him. My wife Paula and I literally gave away all we owned in 77' to go evangelize. We were not raised in church. God saved us in our home. A small one bedroom apartment about two years after we were married. At midnight on a clear starry night in Miami, we asked the Lord to fill us with the Holy Spirit. And all of a sudden, lightening struck, literally outside our bedroom window. I literally heard Gods audible voice! We both fell onto the floor face down and were filled! We have a tremendous testimony of the many signs, wonders and miracles God has done in our ministry throughout the years. God is good!"
