Bio

60 A.D. began in December 2002 with William and Marlene Travis. Wil and Marlene who hail from Ohio before moving to south Florida, have formed several Christian bands, Praise and Worship bands and have led folks in worship since 1979.  Together they bring a new touch and a contemporary sound to the Christian music industry with all original music that has appealed to a wide variety of ages.

They completed that project in September 2003 and began seeking musicians to complete the 60 A.D. sound.

60 A.D., as a band has been together since October 2003. Consisting of Anthony DeFontes who originates from New York, is a vocalist has sung professionally with some big names before finding Christ. He also adds harmonica to the groups sound.  Matthew Lawson is the bass player who comes to us from Oklahoma.  He formerly played with a Praise and Worship band while attending college and makes a great addition to the sound.  Frank Nesbihal, our drummer hails from northern New Jersey and has played in a rock cover band called "the Pulse" before coming here. James Travis is sound technician.  When not pushing buttons on the sound board or making us sound crazy, you can find James working on raising his belt rank in martial arts. We are so thankful for each and every one of our band members, for their loyalty and their desire to serve the Lord through music, the music He has given them.  You can reach them through their website of www.60ad.com.

The Lord has blessed 60 A.D. with a desire to spread the good news to a dying world through His gift to them…music.  “It is our desire to spread the message of love, peace and hope to those who will hear.”

“For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.”  Ephesians 2:10

Song Stories

It’s No Lie was written in 1981 and yet it has elicited profound responses from those of all ages. It gives a timely message for any generation. We tend to become complacent in our ways and sometimes fall back into the same rut Christ took us out of. We can never expect to impact the world for Christ if we aren’t totally sold-out for Christ and are willing to allow change to occur in our own lives.

A James Taylor feel, Silly Old Toys is just one of those tunes you can get caught up into. The smooth sound of the rhythm guitar flows easily through the tune and you can feel as though you almost know the song already. The message is clear in saying that we all have things we consider more important to us instead of those things that are really important. It’s those things we need to get rid of to live a Godly life. Those silly old toys we allow to take over our lives.

When He Comes brings a solid contemporary sound to the front. The strong lead vocal coupled with the harmonious background vocals keep this tune ringing in your ears for days to come. The message here is one of hope…hope that there is coming a day when Christ will return to gather His own to Him. There will finally be no more heartache or pain and that my friend is great news!

All For You is your classic rock tune. In writing it I wanted to bring the message that ‘He did it all for you’ to the forefront. The lead guitar solo rips around then brings you right back again…while the bass smoothly flows making this tune fluid.
